Kafironda Solar Park is a proposed development on agricultural land near Mufulira in the Copperbelt Province. The site is well suited to solar generation due to its flat terrain, low density of rural residential dwellings and proximity to existing transmission infrastructure.

Scheduled for completion in 2023, Kafironda Solar Park is a utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) farm in Mufulira District, Copperbelt Province of Zamba. A consortium of indigenous Zambian business and engineering experts established CMR Energy Limited to develop a 100MW photovoltaic project in the country.
Sezi Elecctrical Contractors, a leading electrical installation, civil and mechanical expert, is leading the consortium. The ground-mounted PV farm is expected to produce 166.8 giga-watt hours of electricity per year upon completion of Phase 1. The consortium will develop the plant on project-owned land on the outskirts of Mufulira Town.
